Here are the original rough design plans for my magazine, using a midshot for the front cover and taking into account features such as the barcode, images, coverlines, the main cover line and the masthead. The contents included the logo, a collage of images and where to put them and the page numbers and article names and where to put them.

(can be found in blog page) I then drew up some more detailed designs taking into account facial expression and body language of the model, position of the model on the front cover, position of the text and coverlines and masthead in relation to the image of the model. I used this before doing my first shoot so i could take the photos with the text and masthead and barcode in mind - helping me visualise what images I needed. More intense masthead and logo and contents page logo planning, along with double page spread designs.
